Keeping you up to date Let the Vale know if you want to receive their new e-newsletter called Vale News which will bring the latest news about the Local Plan as well as other items of interest.

We want to keep you up to date with the Local Plan and other important stories affecting housing and planning in the Vale, along with other stories that might interest you. That's why we're launching a new e-newsletter called Vale News - we'll use this to bring you the latest news about the Local Plan. As Vale News is replacing this newsletter.

The first edition will be coming out in the next week - there will be a one-click unsubscribe option in the footer of the newsletter in case you don't want to continue receiving it.

The first edition includes an update on where a number of our communities are with the development of their Neighbourhood Plans.

Don't forget you can also keep up to date with progress of our Local Plan on our website.

Local Plan 2031 Part 1 Examination - public consultation on main modifications

As you may be aware, the Local Plan Inspector recently published his main Interim Findings on our Local Plan 2031 Part 1. The Inspector indicated that, subject to "main modifications", the plan is likely to be found sound.

We are now consulting on these main modifications. We have attached an electronic copy of the main documents to this email. We will be distributing hard copies of these documents before the end of this week.

Draft Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) - public consultation

We also want to know what you think of our draft Statement of Community Involvement (SCI). This sets out how we'll engage with communities and the ways people can comment on planning applications.

Once it's adopted we'll have a duty to comply with the new SCI in preparing any plan making document, or determining a planning application. The updated SCI will replace the current version that was published in 2009

The Draft SCI is available to view and download from our website here. Due to the size of the SCI document, we are unable to attach it to this email. Again, we will distribute hard copies of the draft SCI and accompanying documents before the end of this week.

How to view the consultation documents
All documents (including response forms) can be viewed and downloaded electronically on our website at www.whitehorsedc.gov.uk/localplan

They are also available for inspection at our office 135 Eastern Avenue, Milton Park, Milton, OX14 4SB (Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm), and at public libraries in Abingdon-on-Thames, Wantage, Faringdon, Grove, Botley, Kennington, and Didcot.
